Trim Levels (Exterior)
After a refresh in 2024, the Kia Seltos carries over to 2025 with minor changes. Projector beam headlights are standard on the LX, S, EX, and X-Line, while the top-tier SX boasts LED headlights and fog lights. All models except the LX have LED taillights. The LX, S, and EX come with 17-inch alloy wheels, and the higher trims upgrade to 18-inch alloys. Roof rails are included on all but the base trim, with high-utility gloss-black rails distinguishing the X-Line.
Measuring 172.6 inches long, 70.9 inches wide, and 64 inches tall, the Seltos maintains a city-friendly size while offering substantial interior space. The 103.5-inch wheelbase and 7.3 inches of ground clearance provide stability and capability for light off-road adventures. New metallic colors are available across the lineup for the 2025 model year, giving buyers more personalization options.
Engine (Power)
A 2.0-liter I-4 is standard on the Seltos LX, S, and EX. It delivers 146 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 132 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm and pairs with a continuously variable transmission. The X-Line and SX trims feature a more potent 1.6-liter turbocharged I-4 with 195 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 195 pound-feet of torque between 1,600 rpm and 4,500 rpm. This engine connects to an eight-speed automatic transmission, offering strong acceleration and responsive power delivery. The S and EX come with front-wheel drive. Torque-vectoring all-wheel drive is standard on the LX, X-Line, and SX trims and available on the S and EX.
Performance
The turbocharged SX AWD model accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds and completes the quarter mile in 15.4 seconds at 92 mph, with an estimated top speed of 130 mph. Kia's Vehicle Stability Management system enhances control in various driving conditions.
Fuel economy varies by configuration. With the 2.0-liter engine, the FWD Seltos earns 28 mpg in the city, 34 mpg on the highway, and 31 mpg combined, while the AWD version achieves 27 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 29 mpg combined. When equipped with AWD and the turbo engine, the SUV offers 24 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.
Interior
The Seltos provides 53.2 cubic feet of first-row passenger space and 46.4 cubic feet for second-row occupants. Front passengers enjoy 40 inches of headroom and 41.4 inches of legroom, while rear passengers get 38.4 inches of headroom and 38 inches of legroom.
Cargo capacity measures 26.6 cubic feet behind the rear seats, expanding to 62.8 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. The dual-level cargo floor adds flexibility for storing items of various sizes.
Higher trim levels include faux-leather upholstery, a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, wireless smartphone charging, and a dual-screen infotainment system with in-dash navigation. Interior ambient lighting adds a premium touch to the cabin atmosphere.
Safety Features
Standard safety equipment includes forward collision-avoidance assistance with pedestrian, cyclist, and car detection, lane management systems, driver attention warning, and rear occupant alert. The Seltos S and higher feature a safe exit warning, blind-spot collision warning, and rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist.
In Insurance Institute for Highway Safety testing, the 2025 Kia Seltos earned "Good" ratings in Small Overlap Front Crash Tests for driver and passenger sides. It achieved an "Acceptable" rating in the Moderate Overlap Front Crash Test and a "Marginal" score in the Side Crash Test. Headlight evaluations varied, with SX trim's LED projectors rated "Acceptable" and halogen projectors on other trims rated "Poor." The pedestrian front crash prevention system earned an "Acceptable" rating.
