If you’re looking for a hybrid SUV with incredible fuel economy, the 2025 Kia Niro Plug-in Hybrid is a reliable choice. Check out the two trim levels of the new Kia Niro PHEV.

EX
Performance, Range, and Fuel Economy
Both Niro trims are powered by a PHEV powertrain that features a 1.6L four-cylinder engine and an electric motor with a combined output of 180 horsepower. Power is sent to the wheels through a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive is standard. The Niro PHEV comes with an 11.1 kWh battery that offers 33 miles of electric driving range. It is rated for 108 MPGe, which means incredible savings at the pump.
Exterior Styling
The base EX rocks a hybrid front-end design, 16-inch alloy wheels, projector beam headlights, and LED daytime running lights. It also comes with rain-sensing windshield wipers and heated, power-adjustable side mirrors for increased convenience. The standard roof rails amp up the rugged style and provide room up top for things like bikes, kayaks, and camping gear.
Interior Features and Comfort
The stylish vibe continues inside with gloss-black trim, SynTex and cloth seats, and a SynTex-wrapped steering wheel. Dual-zone automatic climate control allows the driver and front passenger to ride in comfort, while the rear AC vents keep the rear passengers comfy. This trim also includes heated front seats and a 10-way power driver’s seat. Heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel are both optional.
Infotainment and Technology
The EX is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display with built-in navigation. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, making it easy to sync your phone and access apps on the screen. You’ll also get Bluetooth for audio streaming and hands-free calls, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 6-speaker audio system. With five USB ports and a wireless charger, everyone can charge their devices on the go.
Driver Assistance Features
The EX features a forward collision-avoidance assist system that helps prevent collisions with pedestrians, cyclists, and cars you’re following. It also comes with a lane-keeping assist system, smart cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and speed limit assist. Rear parking sensors and a rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist system come standard to help you back up safely.
SX Touring
Building on the well-equipped EX, the SX Touring upgrades the exterior with 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, fog lights, front parking sensors, a sunroof, and a hands-free power liftgate. The cabin feels more premium with perforated SynTex seats, sport pedals, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Standard niceties include heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel.
