The K5 comes standard with a 1.6-liter 180 horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine that can be upgraded to a 2.5-liter four-cylinder 290 horsepower engine in the GT trim level, offering a bit more power than the Forte. FWD variants of the K5 enjoy an average combined fuel economy of 31 mpg, while AWD variants sit at an average of 28 combined—the GT level trim clocks in at a comparable 27 combined mpg.
